Sunny bee

I had intended to go to Christchurch today to visit my lovely grandson, but I realised yesterday afternoon that I was pretty exhausted and should probably spend the day at home.

I had also considered going back down to the field of sunflowers at Oamaru at some point to see if I could get some better bee photos.

I definitely didn't feel like that trip today either, but instead I found a patch of about a dozen sunflowers down the road.  I stopped to take photos and was quite surprised to find some equally pollen smothered bees.  I guess they'd been partying in that wee clump of sunflowers for a while.

It was still really hard to focus on the bees because of the layers of pollen, but at least the bee bum is clear!
