A is for .......

Into Skibbereen today and a meeting with a new card customer - all very satisfactory; and then a nice mooch around the town. Skib is rife with interesting shop fronts, odd little corners and quirky details; colourful, old and a little rundown. I couldn't decide which of the shot fronts I liked best, so you get another three in the extras. The window featured is above the close up of the bay with the nice tiles and grotty nets. Who the figure in the green house is I don't know! 

We then went to see the new exibition in Uillinn, the West Cork Arts Centre - called Scissors Cut wrap paper stone which left me pretty unmoved I have to say, all very conceptual. I remember playing the game with gusto in my youth. Uillinn does have an ace café attached though and I had a green goddess soup! Or was that goodness?

Home via Schull and delivering some books. Schull was mostly closed but there was a film crew lurking down one of the side streets with large cameras, hairy mike thingies and reflectors. The subjects  of the film seemed to be two priests in the full gear complete with little black hats. No sure if they were bona fide or not, and the film crew had Dublin accents - always suspicious! As I arrived on the main road (there is only one main road in Schull) a mini bus was causing chaos having stopped and out piled loads of youths in wellies - two of whom I recognised as past pupils. And the customs and excise boat - a very sinister grey object - was in the harbour. Really, too much excitement for one day.
