Playing with ideas

Inspired by Majoayee's  oil drop photo, I decided to play around a little this afternoon to see what might be possible.  Now, I never set out to take a photo to publish, or even one to be proud of, but with multiple light sources you can get some really nice effects.  The multiple rings around the oil drops occur because the oil drops are illuminated with multiple light sources, one of which is below the oil drops and the others above.  I not sure why the black rings around the oil drops are so pronounced; there is absolutely no post-processing involved in this photo.  In some of the other photos I took the ring around the oil drops has come out gold rather than black.

I was making do with a green transparent paper wallet, and a blue one, to filter the light sources.  Not ideal by any stretch of the imagination, and I was too impatient to let the other small bubbles dissipate before taking the photo.  But, hey, I was just playing around ;-)  There is a lot of potential with this oil drops on water technique.  I now need loads of coloured plastic ...
