A vistor from across the Pond

My local park has a new resident; a Wood (or Carolina) Duck.  Wood Ducks are native to the USA but it is know that some have escaped in the UK from waterfowl collections.  It is unusual to see one though.
 
Wood Ducks are closely related to Mandarin Ducks and the male Wood Duck which has taken up residence in the park seems to have become quite taken with one of the female Mandarins – a special relationship?
 
The Wood Duck is, however, extremely aggressive towards the male Mandarins.
