An Artist's Life

More. Snow.

OK...I left Salt Lake in a dense fog, cut across southern Idaho on the Sacagawea Byway in blowing snow and climbed to the top of Lost Trail Pass in heavy snow that was up to my axles. Down the other side into the Bitterroot Valley the snow continued. 8 to 10 inches of new snow blanketed the valley and made for treacherous driving. Fortunately, I was listening to a fascinating book, The Red Garden by Alice Hoffman, and ignored the weather outside the truck. My faithful steed, Tatonka the Titan, was sure-footed in 4-wheel drive and we flew over the mountains immersed in a saga spanning centuries.

Now at home, we dug yet more paths around the house and studio. This winter seems endless, but the house and studio are cozy in this sub-zero weather. We'll go see La La Land tonight.
