Lunch at Star Anise
Can you tell I'm ever so slightly obsessed by food since cutting out sugar? Or that there really isn't much else to blip?
After a full on morning at work, I went meet my friend Kitty at her printing workshop next to Star Anise cafe. She treated me to lunch. We worked together in a publishing house in the 1990s and she had her birthday on 26 the January; a colleague, Lyn, was next on 2nd Feb, then me on 5th, and Lucy, the senior designer, was on 8th. The lunches we had! Sadly, Lyn is no longer with us. She died just before her fiftieth birthday, having already bought theatre tickets for Stratford-upon-Avon.
Anyway, there I was with my kale pakora and beansprouts, telling Kitty about my high blood pressure while she told me about her low blood pressure ( if it wasn't for those health checks for fifty something year old women, we'd never know)! Afterwards I went and got a key cut, and took it back to work, and did a few more things in town. When I got home I was so tired I fed Bomble, checked my emails, and popped into bed to watch Pointless. Next thing I knew, Steve was shouting Hello! and the TV News from Trumpton was frankly even more alarming than usual...
I have so much catch up TV to watch that I might stay in bed a while longer. Last night I submitted some orders and invoices, and some coursework, and was feeling pretty good, but found myself in the strange position of having to help sign up my sister to my card selling team before midnight! I only had twenty minutes in which to do it, and the internet went down! Readers, we managed it. By the skin of our teeth.
