D and I drove to new Abbey this morning to meet up with his three running friends. They set off up Criffel with Jess. It was absolutely pouring with rain so I sat in the car for an hour, reading my book* and then went for a walk up to the Waterloo Monument. I met them all by the millpond and took a photo - not a very good one as my camera was misted up and it was pretty dreich.  After changing out of our wet clothes, we went for lunch and a blether at Loch Arthur.

*one of my New Year challenges was to read "Anna Karenina" and to finish it by today. I have 50 pages left to go....
