The "Piano Shifters"

Apparently this is one of the nicknames for Rugby players in the pack and they certainly lived up to their name this afternoon.

A friend of mine was given an old piano ( about 100 years old! ) and it has sat for a few weeks in the entrance hall of her block of flats. She asked if I knew anyone who could get it up to her flat and  I decided getting it up 2 flights of stairs was the job for  strong young men. I got in touch with a farmer who I knew coached the local rugby team and he dispatched 6 of the team to do the job and with a fair bit of rucking and good evidence of team work they heaved it up.

My friend is delighted and the lads were equally pleased to get a donation for their club - they even got a rendition of Fur Elise on the piano for their efforts!
