Sunny Inside and Out

I wish that I could have sent some of today's sunshine here (the outside variety) to all of the UK blippers who had a wet Bank Holiday Monday! The gaily marked zinnia seemed like a small sun itself at our breakfast table.

Never mind, perhaps you'll be able to share in some of the red currant elixir I started today, which should be ready to drink in a few months. There are two of those large glass jars now resting quietly in the pantry, letting the fruit, sugar, and vodka do their magic.

The prospect of that crimson liqueur helps make the already waning evening light, as summer winds down to autumn, more tolerable.
