The Washington Post Half Plunge Technique

Last year The Washington Post ran an article about how to make perfect cafetiere coffee. I started using the technique and for the last nine months have been teaching it to Mr K. He is good at many things but it has taken him a long time to get this; now at last, by introducing a SCOOP (Standard Coffee Optimised Operating Procedure) he is nearly there. Just needs to add in a bit of intuition and some artistry in delivery (his pouring technique is somewhat vulgar) and he will have passed his long coffee apprenticeship.

That was one of the highlights of my day. Another slog of a day in a slog of a week. Poor TSM is in a right old state tonight, really ill. Went to bed at 7.30. Cancelling our theatre trip tomorrow night - even if she perks up the last thing she needs is a late night in London with the temperatures a digit above freezing.

The Dizzle is at least having a great time out in Australia - has just done the famous Sydney Harbour Bridge walk. But this feels like its been a long winter and a long way to go yet ...
