We set up a burns unit today - the only treatments offered were cake, biscuits and flapjacks. The iced ginger sponge was very popular as was the shortbread. All part of our effort to show diversity in the workforce. Thanks to Mr T who bought lots of goodies back from Morrisons in Glasgow on the train. He ended up sitting next to a couple of femme fatales from Geordi Shore, god help him. Apparently they spent the whole leg from Newcastle to London signing autographs and putting on makeup.
We didn't recite any poetry but here is a food offering from the Burns Night supper:
“Some hae meat and canna eat,
And some wad eat that want it,
But we hae meat and we can eat,
And sae the Lord be thankit.”
Amen to that ...
