At last!
Sue has been making art all her adult life. First ceramics, then pencil and watercolor, ink and watercolor, and now acrylic and watercolor, and throughout the years, from time to time, photography. She views art-making as play. She’ll do a whole book of watercolor paintings and then throw them out, or she’ll write grocery lists on them, or maybe she pins them to the wall for a while, but she’s as likely to wipe the floor with them as not. I have been urging her to curate her work, to take herself seriously as an artist, to frame some paintings and hang them in her house, even to consider having a show. Finally, today, we collected her first set of framed paintings. They’re now hanging on her walls, and it feels to me as if her home has been transformed.
