Butterfly House, Pacific Grove

You should read the article in our local paper to get all the details--this homeowner conceived the project as a gift for his wife, who was going blind but could still see bright colors. He began with one butterfly. And that's how it goes, one butterfly at a time. The Extra shows the entire house.

We took a sweet little field trip today to Pacific Grove, down below Monterey, about an hour south of us. Oyster stew and clam chowder, and a nice long walk along the ocean cliffs, which are very different than the formations we frequent at home--the rocks are rockier and the water is a gorgeous clear turquoise.
