Roots manoeuvre
The Greening Group (community gardening) mustered with lump hammers to plant apple trees at two venues around town today. Here Martin, the fruit tree expert, explains to Julia that the roots should be buried up to a point half way between them and the top of the root stock. He reassured us that when you plant trees you have to expect them to sleep the first year, to creep the second year and only to leap in the third.
The hammers were to bang in the stakes to which the trees were fastened.
I seem to be having a blip-dip. Motivation and inspiration are both in short supply at present - sorry about that.
