Woohoo woodpecker

I was disappointed not to pick up any work this morning, especially as I was awake and up by 6.30am waiting for a call! 
The only bonus of not working is that I can go out on a a walk during the day. Today was no exception even though the sky never altered from a dismal grey all day. I headed out to Normanby park for a walk in the woods.

now there are days where it is just really hard to find anything to blip and then there are other days where you could blip 50 different shots. Today is one of the latter!!!! I spotted a robin getting ready to and then eat (all captured on film), I saw squirrels doing what they do best and then when I got to the bird feeders at the bird spotting stop I saw a nuthatch. All of these can be seen here. Because the star of the day (and around 30 shots) was Woody woodpecker here :-). I have not seen a woodpecker this close up before. I have heard them, and seen them from a distance but this one was soooo close.
