A different world

Imagine the main pool without hordes of children. Imagine a quiet tropical paradise where Indian Mynah birds, Red Whiskered Bulbuls, Common Waxbills and something that looks like a Curlew just strut among the lush plants.

My photo is of a Madagascar Fody not very far from the main building.

An advantage of being an insomniac is that you see the world in its quiet state.

I went down to the sea just after six, wearing my reef shoes. My balance was so much better as I didn't have to wobble gingerly over sharp stones etc. I noticed a sign that warned you to wear reef shoes (how can I have missed it?)

I felt reassured and less depressed about becoming older and less flexible. Maybe the wet landings by Zodiac will be ok.

I had a good swim alone in the main pool (extra) watching the birds fly past and settle in the palm trees.

A different world indeed.

We will be joining our ship in Port Louis this afternoon and then heading off to Reunion.
