Reedbeds on the Wash
I went out on the Wash today. The weather was cold and windy but the light was superb for photography. The twitchers were out in force and one of them spotted a peregrine falcon and focussed a scope so I could observe it. The flocks of birds in the extra are golden plover and lapwings and the others are knots (I think) and a shelduck in flight. There were about 50 different resident and visiting bird species today, mostly ducks, geese and waders. A hot chocolate from the machine in the hide was most welcome.
