Waxwings!

I had given up on seeing a waxwing in the flesh/feather this year as they've been zooming around Edinburgh and the Lothians for the last couple of weeks and I've missed them every time. However, today we had to go up to the Pilrig Scotmid for a few messages (as you do) and came back via Pilrig Park - didn't even get as far as the park before we caught up with a substantial flock of the cheeky little blighters, feeding in some rowan trees on Pilrig Street. Moving too fast so only got blurry photos, but we saw them again sitting at the top of a huge aspen tree on the other side of the park. It's been a while since I heard their chatter - they sound exactly like a flock of Trim phones.  This is what they look like close up when they sit still for a minute.
