Dolly in Estoi
We headed out to get some breakfast, I was pleased because I got a delicious, and still warm, egg custard tart and fresh lemonade, and Lewis was happy because he can get the tiny and strong coffee he likes on the continent and no one looks st him like he's got three heads! After breakfast, we headed to the bus station to get the bus to Estoi! We visited the palace, the grounds were so pretty, found a lovely wee shop selling fantastic local products, and then headed down to the Roman ruins! The ruins are exactly that, but there were some nice bits of mosaic intact, and it impressed me how much work must have gone into them! After this we headed back to Faro, and after a quick siesta, we headed out to go for a boat tour! We went through the Ria Formosa, and I had no idea that it got such a variety of birds, although we only saw storks, spoonbills and grebes, I would have loved to have seen a flamingo. We stopped at two islands, the deserted island and the lighthouse island, both were very pretty, but the deserted island did have an amazing beach! We headed back to Faro, just I time for sunset, it was lovely! Heading home tomorrow, but might just have time to squeeze in an egg custard tart for breakfast before we leave!
