Eleven Pipers Piping

There are 12 of these wood carvings scattered around the city on the theme of the Twelve Days of Christmas. I have not been counting how many I have come across, maybe four, this is the first one I have photographed.

I was looking for somewhere open for lunch, and this statue is next to one of the restaurants I thought I might have gone to, but it was closed. After this I adjourned to the new Cognito Deli on the corner of Ashley Road, I had passed earlier and noticed it was open. Cognito Deli has a slightly European (maybe French) feel to it. Quite small but quite simpatico. Rather to my surprise it is also licensed, so I had a Bruschetta and a Peroni.

I think I will be going back to Cognito Deli.
