Day 10: Goodbyes

2years 307days

I took Katie for one last swim this morning. She has a little friend that she made while we have been at the other swimming sessions and some of the activities and she was excited to go see Emily for one last swim together. They play really nicely in the pool, chasing about.

It was then time to do the last bits of packing before we went up to say goodbye to Uncle Gareth, and get our taxi (corporate taxi, posh!) to the station to meet the others. Katie got her first ride in a Mercedes. We met Louise and children, Nadine and Spencer and all had a bit of a photo shoot of various groups of the kids on the railway bridge stairs. Big cuddles, lots of goodbyes and it was time for our journey home.

She immediately wanted her train picnic. When we got on our first longer train of the four, she wanted to sit next to Spencer. They played adorably together for the full time, him helping her with some colouring and her trying to understand what he was telling her about his Skylander figures. She was really good the whole way. She had a bit of a walk up and down on the third train, and on the fourth train, she was on real form, excited to get to her friends at home I think. When we arrived home, she got her favourites, played frantically and fell asleep mid play.
