Through the trees

What a contrast today's bright sun and cloudless sky was to yesterday's continuous rain. It meant that my friend C and I could get out to Holme Fen, one of our favourite places, to have a good walk. Usually we just about have the place to ourselves but today there were quite a few people out walking mainly with their dogs. It's a magical place which seems to look different every time we go there. Today it was relatively open and you could see the sky through the bare trees and the ferns had died off almost to ground level.
