The Way of Colour

A boot or a foot ?

18C hardly a breeze. Felt cooler, but humid.

Quiet day today. Took Maeve the Deerhound for her walk before 11am. Walked up by the old church and took the bridle path to the shore. Was curious to see the field after the harvest. Was hoping for bales, but no. Field empty. Just stubble. Maeve and I crossed from the path into the field, found the harvester's tyre tracks and walked down to the shore road. Maeve likes that better than walking on the stubble.

Crossed at the level crossing and found the beach completely empty. Good solid damp sand to walk on. Half a dozen nice pieces of Sea Glass, some green. Then I saw a tiny piece that reminded me of a boot (or the ankle and foot of a small glass person!). I chose to put the glass on some shells today rather than pebbles. Just for a change. Blip :-)

As we approached the Fishermen's huts we heard a tractor start up. It was one of the blue tractors and it was down on the hard sand beside "Shamara". The man drove the tractor steadily up the beach to its usual parking spot near the big creel rack. Maeve and I had a look round another rowing boat tied up at the edge of the dunes near "Wee Peem". It didn't have a name. Interesting textures in the bottom of the boat and a coiled rope too.

As Maeve and I walked up the slope to the huts from the beach we saw the Fisherman drive off in his pickup. A small one. A Jumbuck, or so it says on the back. We wandered along by the cottages and saw the lady from the holiday let. It is a holiday let, there is an advert at the bottom of the window. A long narrow one. Further along another lady was sitting outside enjoying a long cool drink.

Later I went to the dentist. Six months since my last checkup. Six months until the next one. I escaped again ... hooray!

Rant: Why do dentists always seem to look disappointed that they don't find some awful problem that requires X-rays and drills and many appointments ? Yes, many appointments. That is their way. Footpads! J' accuse!

Tomorrow is Saturday and I shall eat many things that would give dentists apoplexy :-)
