the day after the night before

Into CMK early this morning; Anniemay has an appointment at Specsavers.  At 9.30am on New Year’s Day.  To my surprise, we’re not the only ones.  Most of the assistants look bright and sparky, but one looks as if he’s had a good night.

Afterwards we have breakfast in Cafe Rouge.  Again - we’re not the only ones.

I keep a look out while Anniemay blips away inside the shopping centre; last time she got pounced on by a security guard.  They don’t like photographers here.

We wander back to the car just before 11.00.  There’s a long queue outside the Apple shop.  Nothing new there then.  There’s also a long queue outside the Lego shop.  Perhaps there’s something new here?

Anniemay wants to know what’s going on; “there’s hardly any children ….”  She’s right - it’s nearly all adults. So we sit nearby and wait for the shop to open.  You can do this when you’re retired.  It turns out that it’s something to do with the new Lego Batman Movie.

It’s cold and wet outside the shopping centre.  Just round the corner from this drinks cup, advertising help for the homeless, are a bundle of sleeping bags.  Something else for the security guards to keep out.
