A guid new year to ane an' a'

A guid new year to ane an' a'
An' mony may ye see,
An' during a' the years to come,
O happy may ye be.
An' may ye ne'er hae cause to mourn,
To sigh or shed a tear;
To ane an'a baith great an' sma'
A hearty guid New Year

As sung by my Mother on New Year's Eve.

Cheers, blippers everywhere.  Happy New Year.

ps;
I’ve just realised that the juxtaposition of the bottle and the photo might suggest that she had a drink problem.  Far from it.  She was a Scottish Methodist.  No alcohol “…. unless prescribed by a physician.”  (Methodist doctrine 1744).  She would, however take a small Sherry on occasion.
