Mum and Textiles

A morning for looking through all of mum's textiles and sorting them into piles and boxes.  It's made me regret not taking more interest when she was still able to share.  Quite a lot of the stuff relates to her City and Guilds Qualifications and there are wonderful sample pieces all very neatly labelled and categorised.  Her interest didn't stop there and I've now got boxes labelled, felt-work, quilting, tapestry, embroidery and lots more.  I wonder if my granddaughter in Australia would like some of the sample pieces.  I've decided that I'm going to photograph some of the samples and post them on Instagram for her to have a look.  Also, there are quite a lot of quilted squares that would make up into cushion covers so maybe there will be someone from the sewing circle at `Pretty Things' who might take them on as a project.  I managed a shorter walk than yesterday in the afternoon and have come back with a rather good `tree monster' which I'll post on FB.
