I had hoped

that the pohutukawa flowers would be further out and more spectacular than last week but it wasn't to be. Two nights of very heavy rain in the last week had decimated a great deal of them.  This is a section where children love to play around the rocks.  It looks harmless now but in a storm or strong winds the waves often appear to come from nowhere.
