Peaceful Pause

Hoping all of you had a peaceful and joy-filled Christmas Day! This was a moment of solitary peace I had, walking to my daughter's in-laws' - the significant thing about this photo was the totally empty car park behind Mr. Blackbird; never seen that before.

Took over a hundred photos today of our traditional British family Christmas. Stockings for the two still at home, then church for some. Our daughter's in-laws did another superb Christmas dinner, and a heroic job of fitting all 13 of us into their cozy dining room. Son-in-law made three amazing desserts. Crackers and candles and conversation.

And then Secret Santa back at our daughter's - our family's way of cutting down on the present overload - just one present to buy and a limit to the spending, as well as some appreciation expressed to your recipient. Plus, son joined us, after shift in the nursing home.
