Almost there!
Saturday
It was a grey day today, though it remained dry. This morning Roger, Laura and I went for a local walk, then Laura went with her grandad to pick grandma up from the care home for the day. We had gone on Wednesday to see Edna's new "home" but Laura wasn't with us at that point. While she was gone, Roger and I finished our wrapping. After lunch, we took Edna and Bernard for a little drive to see the progress on the new Mersey bridge. Later in the afternoon we listened to the Festival of nine lessons and carols fromKings College, which has always been a part of our Christmas Eve tradition - we were still able to listen the years we lived in the States, as it was broadcast on our local classical music station. Later still, we had a lovely Skype session with Jen and Jason in Salt Lake City -they were celebrating their Christmas today, as Jen, being a nurse, is working the next three days. We have been extremely well-fed as usual at Janet and John's, and are feeling somewhat dozy at present, as we sit here in front of the tree and all the presents - the pile keeps getting bigger - but in about an hour we will be going out to a watchnight service at church, and celebrate with joyful and thankful hearts the true meaning of Christmas.
So before I go, may I wish everyone a joyous and blessed Christmas and a happy, healthy and peaceful New Year!
