Re-cycle Path

When they upgraded the A1 to motorway they closed off all the sliproads to and from our village. We now have local access roads to connect us at the two closest junctions.

One of the sliproads, the southbound exit, was reused to create a footpath, bridleway and cycle route.

This is the view looking north and you can see the remains of the sliproad markings, SLOW and the painted red warning markers.

Just beyond the tall fence is the hard shoulder and then the three live running lanes. I don't really like walking up this part of the route as this, and an armco barrier, is all that separates you from the high speed traffic.
