Launching

The Alps to ocean bike trail passes within about 20 metres of my camp site.

I took a walk along it today where it goes through farm paddocks and alongside the lake.  I passed this boat launching area and it seemed the perfect photo opportunity.

Beautiful colours, beautiful weather.  The perfect New Zealand pastime for the morning of Christmas Eve.

(With apologies to all of you who are suffering rain, wind and snow.)

AND I saw crested grebes on the lake (never seen them here before) but they were too far out to get decent photos of them.
