Lake Benmore
Taken from the rise about a kilometre up the road from my camping spot.
I had a lovely day today. Started with a lazy morning then I went in to Twizel to buy a doormat seeing I'd forgotten to in Oamaru. On the way home I stopped off at Omarama to visit some friends who are caravaning there.
When I got back I decided that I should take a photo of the lake, but I've blipped it from the camp before so took a walk up the hill for a new view point. All that purple flower in the field in the foreground is vipers bugloss. Pretty at a distance but actually a nasty prickly weed. I believe it is now officially on the noxious list in New Zealand.
But the bees do produce great honey from it.
