He's Behind You!

His Lordship and I in the company of two small grandsons had an appointment with Jack and his Beanstock this afternoon.  
I haven't been to a pantomime in Edinburgh since I was a small girl, so I wasn't sure what to expect. However it was a good production and there were enough adult jokes for us and enough childish smutty jokes to keep a naughty almost six year old and and an eight year old doubled up with laughter.

Huge monsters, giant beanstocks and a very realistic helicopter added to the atmosphere while ice cream at the interval and the short walk home in the early dark made it feel that Christmas had arrived.

        After a Christmas style dinner with crackers  HL seemed to wilt under the general hubbub, and sought peace and quiet behind his door while the boys were drooping as well and happy to sit and watch some obscure children's programme.They will probably sleep in the car on the way through to Glasgow to stay the night with their cousins.

The house is suddenly very quiet and very tidy.
