Rubbish Sunset

Well, it's not really a rubbish sunset - it's taken at the top of Grangemoor which is a reclaimed rubbish dump at Cardiff Bay. At the top is a an iron chain sculpture with 360 degree views over Cardiff, The Bay and Llandough. On a clear day you can see across the Bristol Channel to the Mendips. It was finished in 2000 and made into a nature reserve, playground and walk.

I needed to go to Ikea which is a few hundred metres from Grangemoor and as I parked, the sun was starting to set, so I put on my wellies and walked to the top to watch the sun going down. The photo is taken at the summit looking over the chain sculpture to Llandough Hospital which dominates the skyline.

After a bit of shopping I popped in to see my parents who live nearby.
