Santa Band
We were up early this morning and off to the Clyde Valley to source a Christmas Tree. We were looking for a fibre optic artificial one, as the one we had lasted for a long time. However, none that we liked were to be had. We had coffee, as you do, and then tried some more.
We finally settled on a contemporary tree, a 'twig' tree, which is less Christmassy, I suppose, but rather nice. I have added some decorations, and it has its own light system and I think it looks well. We don't have small children to impress, so we reckon we can move 'out of the box' on this one, although dear knows what C will say as she is big on the Christmas traditions.
While we were in the garden centre, we noticed a huge queue of parents and children. They were all waiting to see Santa and experience the Christmas ride on offer. It looked really good; they were able to visit Santa, get a pressie, have a ride on a tractor trailer round the farm, including seeing some of the Cairngorm reindeer which are down working the area, and also have some rides in the very attractive showground. Much more enjoyable I should imagine than the overpriced Santa visits in the shopping malls in towns.
As we were leaving we saw this Santa band, all moving parts, playing 'Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer' and there were some children (and adults) singing and dancing along as we passed. I joined in!!!!
Another dull day but brightened a lot by our activities.
