Nothing happens here...

Grand time...

I was in so much pain this morning MrsDB said I had to stay in bed and watch TV, drink scalding hot tea, scoff a delicious fatly packed bacon sandwich and watch the first episode of The Grand Tour all tenderly provided by MrsDB (I love that woman).  I also love the old Top Gear programme.

(Good link eh?)  I love cars and I've spent far too much money on tasty motors in my lifetime but the Grand Tour/Top Gear programmes give people like me - who could never afford the hypercars a great chance to see what it's like to live with them.

Despite that you'll still hear me screaming abuse at some of the more juvenile aspects of some episodes.  When it was taken off air I was deeply offended.  There were quite a few forums online and on Facebook and I looked into many and commented on a couple.  I came across one person who didn't agree with me and decided that meant there was no alternative but to be abusive, aggressive, rude and generally nasty towards me making unfounded assumptions and neanderthal threats.  What is wrong with these people?  Social media is a great communication tool in the hands of the socially integrated but give it to the malcontents  and dear oh dear.

I mention the above because I've just watched the new Grand Tour and I quite enjoyed it.  Good in parts, a bit silly in others but generally entertaining.  And for the bits I don't want to see I just use the stop, fast forward or change channel button.  I move on.  Simples.  I'm sure there will be Blippers who love the show and those who don't but I've yet to see anyone falling out over it.  Yet go onto the motoring websites and the loons will get wound up over the most innocuous nonsense.  These people would get degrees in venom and vitriolic abuse.  Avoid them like the plague!

And don't get me going about all those lookalike avatars of gothfaced females leering and pouting into the lens of some low-res mobile phone....
