Cambusnethan House

A jaunt with a couple of companions to Cambusnethan House near Wishaw - or The Priory as it is known locally.

Originally built in the 1820 as a family home in the neo-gothic style, it ended up being a failed hotel venture before being severely damaged by fire in the 1980s.  It has been in decay ever since and is a perilous state.  My companions were able to point out many architectural detail and I enjoyed their reconstruction of the building.

The light was flat and grey so we didn't spend too much time on photography.  As you might expect, there is a campaign to help save the building.  I'm not too sure.  Something will have to be done, it is dangerous. But sometimes demolition might be the best way.
