Inquisitive little Coal Tit

This inquisitive little creature,arrived in the garden in a group of about 6.But accompanying several Great Tits,Blue Tits and Long Tailed Tits.
  According to my bird book,they are renowned for gathering in mixed groups in the Winter.
  I suppose it is a case of safety in numbers?
