Zebra Glasses
Today's theme: something you wore today.
Well that's an easy one, I have knickers, socks, a bra, a top, jeans, trainers, a watch, a bracelet, a necklace, a ring, a smile, a hairstyle and my glasses to choose from!
The glasses won!
I've not had these glasses for long, just got them last month after having had my last pair of frames for 4 years. I loved my old ones, they were red and since I have real trouble finding glasses to suit me because of my squint face, I was loathe to part with them.
But after 4 years they were a bit old, battered and bruised and I felt it was time for something new.
So off I went to good old Specsavers (actually I know they don't have a good rep everywhere), got my eyes tested to find that my left eye was more blind than the last time.
The last time, when I bought my red glasses, I went on a Sunday lunchtime, choosing glasses was a nightmare because my husband wasn't with me and the assistant had obviously been out on the razz the night before, clearly hungover and said he'd leave me to it. My red glasses weren't actually my first choice, they were my spare pair but ended up being the ones I wore all the time because the main pair just looked awful once I went back to collect them.
This time, I had had a wee look online first (specsavers do that thing where you can upload a photo of yourself to 'try on' the frames), so had some names of frames written down with me. But I went with the mindset of starting at one end of the shop and trying on every single pair of frames (huge round and stupid looking glasses excepted) until I found ones that looked nice on.
This time I got a much more helpful assistant and my husband and kids came with me.
It ended up I had whittled it down to a choice of 2....a cheap £25 pair and these ones. If money was an issue in this instance, and I didn't want prescription sunglasses that you could get as a BOGOF, then I'd have gone for the cheap ones. But the cheap ones weren't in the BOGOF offer.
But since the sunglasses were an easy choice, and I've wanted prescription sunglasses for a long time, it was the Zebra glasses that I chose.
I usually hate animal print things, in any shape or form and so if I wasn't going for the 'try them all on approach', I'd probably not have picked them up at all.
And I actually really like them! *whispers* I think they may even be better than my red ones.
