The big slice

The journey back to my doctorate begins (again) today, except I only made it to Milwaukee. The ferry had some mechanical issues and I was fortunate enough to have a great network of friends to hang out with, starting with my dear Garrett and Dani and their amazing son, featured here. Seth was able to play on nearby slides for about an hour with his "aunt Cassie" thanks to delays and changes in plans. And this is why life is awesome.

Also got to stay with cousin ryry who was nice enough to take me in and see me off at 5am! All this coupled with some quality mom, dad, and grandma time! It was an excellent 48 hours in Wisconsin!
