Quick dash around Madrid before a quick dash to the airport. Little did we know that we visited Madrid at one of the busiest times of the year, the beginnings of Navidad and a time when locals pour into the city to see the lights & celebrate. So a blip of some exuberant street dancing and an extra of the skyline from El Corte Ingles, now there's a story or rags to riches! In 1934, the founders Ramón Areces Rodriguez and Cesar Rodriguez Gonzalez bought a tailor's shop on one of Madrid's central streets. In 1940, Rodriquez turned the shop into the current corporation El Corte Inglés. On his death in 1989, his nephews & successors quickly became some of the most powerful men in Spain. Spain is wonderful, Spaniards are delightful, Madrid is magical.
