Franklin Road lights

It began with one or two home owners putting up Christmas lights on the front of their house in Franklin Road, Ponsonby. Quite some years ago. Some of the neighbours joined in and now almost every house on this inner city street is lit up at night in December. Families travel to the area far from near and far to enjoy the sight, and share the pleasure with others.

Tonight was my peer review group meeting. On my way home afterwards, I came up Franklin Road to Ponsonby Road, and saw all the lights and the many people walking along looking; often (but not only) with children. I found a park in a nearby street, and went back for some photos. Liked this one the best.
