Cube Houses

Rotterdam is a city of modern buildings, having been reconstructed in a 20th century style, after World War 2, rather than, as many European cities did, simply replacing that which was destroyed. These houses, designed by Piet Blom, and built between 1978 and 1984, are a fine example of the innovative structures in the City.

Other highlights today included the Witte Huis (White House) a rare survivor of pre-war Rotterdam, the delightful suburb Delfshaven and the football match, Feyenoord v Sparta, which was the main reason for the trip.  Feyenoord won 6-1.
