What's at the bottom of the world?

When the kids asked me that question earlier I didn't quite know what to answer. It's all about perspective of course. Where is the bottom of the world? Looking at this globe they probably wanted to hear "Antarctica" however, growing up in a little village in the Black Forest, IT sometimes felt like the bottom of the world. It's all about perception and perspective.

What do people of Antarctica say? The Arctic?

It was fun looking at this globe, it's an old one so most of the countries on here have changed names and some even borders. The bottom of the world is where you want it to be or nowhere, the world is a sphere after all, albeit a squashed one. I remember those maps that represented the 'true' likeness of the countries of the world in their flat version and it just didn't look right. But that again would all have been about perception and perspective.

Maybe they could make a globe that could be turned any odd way so you and me can decide which way is up and which is down.
