Going to the Sun

The sun finally broke through today at Glacier National Park. This photo is looking west at Lake McDonald and Howe Ridge from Going to the Sun Road. Going to the Sun Road  traverses the park and crosses the Continental Divide. It is one of the most difficult roads in America to plow in the spring, as the snows can reach 80 feet deep.

The extra is also taken from Lake McDonald, looking north at Stanton Mtn. (7750 ft/2362 m) and Mount Vaught (8850 ft/2697 m).
