Sunshine in St. Anne's Square

A decent nights sleep for me, not quite so for hub, a bit disturbed.

As the weather forecast is good for the next few days, we decided to go into Manchester today, to the Christmas Market :-)

We got the bus into Wigan then a train to Manchester.........a total cost of £8 ;-)

First port of call was a Capucino in Coffee Republic....their coffee is soooo nice:-). We walked back to Selfridges for lunch.......hub approved of the food but found the location to close to the somewhat overpowering smell of the various perfumes :-/

We walked through The Shambles, then across to St. Anne's Square where I took this shot......I liked the way the sun caught the trees and the ornate building behind :-)

Then we walked up to Albert Square, had a good ol mooch, bought one or two bits and bobs........then down towards Deansgate, through Spinningfields, along Cross Street and up King Street, where we stopped for a Mulled Wine topped with Brandy ;-) ( or 2!!)

We had another wander in the general direction of Victoria Station......came across hundreds of Feyenord supporters ( see extra, which I am gobsmacked to find I could upload via my iPad. I guess the latest update must have enabled this, finally, hurrah!!!) who are in town for tomorrow nights match against Manchester United, all assembled outside the old pub in The Shambles......plenty of police around, hope they don't have too much trouble to deal with :-/

We caught our train home at 6.40 then the bus at 7.30 back in the house by 8.10........all in all, a very enjoyable day :-)
