Autumn Statement

A bit of an EB, but maybe appropriate on the day the Chancellor reveals his Autumn Statement. Although it has been much trailed.

These are worrying times for local authorities, with reducing budgets and very difficult decisions to be made about service provision. So around the country treasurers will be busily digesting the contents of what is announced today, and the detail which is still to follow. Not much pre Christmas cheer I suspect, although some extra funding on housing and infrastructure will be welcome. But the overall squeeze will continue.
