Smooth

Guess where I went today!!
I called in on Friend and tried to talk her out of going back to hospital for a scan and into going back to the hospice. She would not move on the scan - she wants to know how bad the cancer is and I tried to gently say it was bad and everywhere and what would the scan tell her she does not already know. Sadly or maybe luckily  I don't think she is joining all the dots. She was open to going back to the hospice if needed, her appetite has gone and we both know the drinking would be next and we both know where that leads - so I suggested the hospice as an MOT to get her back on track and give her daughter a break. I then spoke to daughter who was exhausted so I said I would take friend in for the scan and she could have the day off.
Much messaging and phoning around to find someone to come with me - I have no idea how the daughter managed by herself the previous day. I could not connect to Friends WiFi and didn't have the numbers I needed so much phoning of others to get the numbers I needed - then realised Friends WIFI was not switched on which was why I could not connect to it! Vegan Jo's husband came to the rescue re coming with us so all finally sorted!
Well we have never had such a smooth trip! We found a parking space in the disabled car park - thank heavens Friend has a Blue badge! We had no sooner sat down in the waiting room after I had bought snacks in the M&S foodhall than we were led to another waiting area. She had just drunk the required amount of water when she was whisked off for the scan! Me and Jo's  hubby ate the cheese slices and  nuts I had bought and suddenly friend was back! We sat in another waiting area to make sure she was ok after the dye they had injected her with, and then she ate half an egg sandwich and crisps with the promise of  Veggie Percy Pigs afterwards! Then we were out and on our way home!
The increase in her steroids seemed to kick in today and she was tired but chatty and pain free and eating and drinking! District Nurses are visiting her tomorrow and Eldest coming home thursday - other friends are doing her tea tonight and tomorrow and lunch. So after thinking we were at DEFCON 3 and heading for 2 I think we can stand down to  DEFCON 5!
