Wading
It's hard to recall from recent memory a more miserable day than today. Cold. Heavy rain. Strong winds. Failing infrastructure. A long day at the office, where our heating was struggling to maintain any sense of warmth, was followed by a long journey home, the signals having been put out by flooding. The wait on the train had to be suffered with cold, wet feet, having had to pass through this tunnel to reach my platform. I considered going another way but then realised that I couldn't run. There wasn't time. It had to be a wade through the water, much like I'd been wading through software problems earlier.
I indulged my mood by writing up my blip journal for yesterday on the train, possibly not always the best idea but I think it's good sometimes to be authentic to the moment - which always passes. The aim of a journal should be to capture those moments, both good and bad.
