Embleton Bay

One of Lucy's favourite walks is from Low Newton to Dunstanburgh Castle and, though we did it 3 weeks ago, MrM and I were both quite happy to go again. 'Twas 16deg warmer then, and this time our winter jackets, hats and gloves were all appreciated! There was ice on the lake by the castle! The tide was out when we left Low Newton, so we walked there along the sand, but had to go to the bridge across the stream on the way back.

Called in to the Ship Inn for refreshment, and then to a pub in Embleton for an early evening meal - delicious food by a roaring fire. Perfect!
